Eating tournament in Sin City

All you can eat turnament - heads up

         JIM                                          VS               JEDI

Blinds went up every 5 minutes, meaning more fries where added to the plate.Jedi gave up after one and a half steak and God knows how much fries.... Jim kept the preassure on and was victorious.

Jim took the double...he won both statt and victory, and ate at world champ level.

Jedi did not stand a chance.... When Jedi was crawling out of the restaurant the waiter said he had never seen something so pathetic.Allthough Jim had won the challenge quite comfortably... He kept on eating.... We at the 'challenge' can only say one thing...R.E.S.P.E.C.T

About the american people

The nature of the Americans

During the three weeks we stayed in the US we only met polite and very helpful people. If you ask someone for help, eightger for the direction, for a light or anything...they go through a world of trouble to help you out.

Here is an example. Jedi is walking, totally lost in the Sin City...wondering where all his luck went.
Mr. Presly and Mr Balboa carfully explained to me where it was. And i must say. When things got rough in Vegas...I talked to Elvis a lot....

Rocky just told me... "Go get'em kid....you can do it...."

As i said...nothing is quite like Vegas

Back From Vegas

The Boys are back!

Ait...Sorry that we were unable to provide live coverage of the vegas trip. We had some technical issues along the way.

First we had to buy a digital camera. Jedi did so, but lost the software and cables. Then it was the power converters....and then it was the internet connection that had to be bouth trhough the visa card. We frequently had troubles with visa transactions from any casino. I do not know if that had anything to do with norwegian goverment regulations when it comes to use of visa & gambling, but It was a nighmare to get online!

Anyway. The trip will be thorougly covered next week when
I have gotten the pictures out of the cameras memory card. We will rate casinoes, food, and other valuable things in Vegas.

All i can say right now... Sin city is intense. But you have to go there. Nothing is like Vegas....

Nothing.

The Vegas Experience - Part 1

Oslo - London

Due to a recent computercrash the blog has been down for about a week. We are now back online.
Special Agent Pedersen and Special Agent Larsen has been sent to Vegas by the J.E.D.I organisation to investigate the randomness of the Las Vegas dealers.
Every table will be examinated. Every card will be turned.

Pedersen & Larsen is currently in Oslo awaiting the J.E.D.I privat space jet, Dice Force1 to dock.

Arrival in Vegas will be somewhere tomorrow. We will spend one day in London playing a Freezout and tasting some brittish beer.

Stay tuned for the Vegas Revelation. There will be many updates the next 20 days!

The Rulette Experiment: Conclusion!

Alright. My hypothesis about  the Rulette hitting red with an unusal rate during 100 games was not supported at all. In fact it hit black the most during the experiment. I then sat XG on rolling out all our games. When he had analysed about 250 games my house suffered a electrical power loss, then the J.E.D.I computer network got an blue screen. It crashed and burned! This have never happend before. I had to buy a new laptop! Well, that was not the worst thing that could happend. It was old...and needed to rest!

Anyway, last time i checked the profile it said that the rulette indeed hit red more often than black. The numbers idicated that I had not been very lucky,  but  it was not outside any x-file parameters. Meaning...It was no X-file!  In other words, nothing out of the ordianry eccept being unlucky inside acceptable frames. Due to my computer crash not all the games got analysed. I think i missed out on about 80-100 games.

I also checked what XG said about dice distribution, and all paramters checked out ok.

So, since everything comes down  to the numbers..., my hypothesis did not hold up and Xristos won the t-shirt. He has still not claimed it though.

I can only conclude that this is another example that the human psycology is fragile. Fox Mulder needs Scully (XG) and visa versa.

So not only did Xristos win against me. His games also fried my computer! Thats a bad week!

I still own a spaceship though!!!

The Rulette Experiment: Part 2

Ait. It looks like Xristos wins the T-shirt.

After 90 games the strenght is equal and luck is ignisificant. Atlantis is 3 points up.So moneywise...we both got screwed, and Play was the big winner.

No matter what happens in the 10 following games, nothing abnormal can happend with the numbers.

So my hypothesis about the rulette hitting Red with an unusual target rate was not supported, at least concerning the 100 games that originally was the experiment.

I will how ever just for fun analyse all the previous games to see if the numbers change radically. How ever in the framework i put for this experiment 100 games, i was wrong. The only thing i really prooved was my own paranoia!

So Xristos. Please send you adress to me at pedersengeir@live.no  and I will send you the T-shirt as promised. It's a quality T-shirt, no cheap stuff!

You won it fair and square!

Jedi...

The Rulette Experiment: Part one

Background:

I started playing backgammon again after almost 5 years in retirement. I got back on play65 and started playing this Xristos guy among others. Now...I just couldn't win....and i lost kind of big. So i figured, lets put it to a test.

Atlantis Hero

                VS

Xristo B52, or as i like to call him, the good greek doctor. Dr. House!

Method:
I use XG. This experiment only covers 100 games. I realize now that a 100 games might be a far to small sample when it comes to cash games, and i might expand this experiment to include lets say a 1000 games.

Before these 100 games, i had not won a single session against Xristos. What can be a flaw to my method is that i notifed Xristos about the experiment before we started playing the ongoing 100
games. I will therefore also analyse all previous games where i consistantly lost, to see if there are critical changes after i went public with this experiment.

Results so far after 74 of 100 games are played are:

Xg concider us quite equal in strenght. Since i have not asked Xristos if it is ok to use his PR i will hide this information partly:

I played on x, 56
Xristos on x,63

So there were no difference in strenght.

Then we go to the luck for these 74 games: The luck shows an ignisificant result on 0.0019

Atlantis Hero won 14 points in this session.

This does of course not support my hytotheses, and if these results stay valid i will have to send Xristos the famous T-shirt with the incsprition:

I Wish I Was
A JEDI....

How ever. I will now start to include all the previous games, to see if critical changes have occured after i went public with this. The fact that i made the survey public before we played...has of course made the validity of the survey a bit shaky.

When all games are played i will publish the results together with previous games. We will also go in detail and see what XG says about the Dice Distribution, and the anslyze process concerning the distribution. If there are any irragularitis with the dice distribution analyses, i will ask a proffesor in statistical siences at the universeity of Tromso what these numbers really means.

I wish you all well.

Jedi out!

The Rulette Experiment! Xristos B52

Ait dear followers. My first statistical survey is comming up.
On Play65 my nick is Atlantis Hero. As you all know, i am all about the truth. I have nothing against conspiracy theories...because...it's a lot of truth in them. Well....On Play 65 i keep playing this Xristos B52, We have played hundreds of games. Always small sessions, because i simply can't afford playing the guy. Not becaues he is better than me...i think...but he is defintely more luckier. In fact his win rate indicates that he must be the best player in the world i think. So let's put it to the test.

My hypothesis is a Rulette example. As you all know there is 50% chanse that you hit eigher black or red. My hypothesis with Xristos is how ever, that in 100 games the Rulette will hit Red an unusual prosentage! It''s as simple as that. Now we alredy have played hundreds of games, so i already know that i have been VERY unlucky, so it will be intresting to see if it continues. I have made Xristos aware of this statisitcal survey, and that can of course compromise the survey, eighter that he stopps playing me, or that i suddenly starts winning.

Well, I am all about sience. As you know they just found particles traveling faster than light...meaning...i've been right all these years. You guys can't even spell time travel.

I willl start posting matches. I will also put all the games i have in the past against Xristos on Batch Analyse. I mean, a player with such a winrate deserves some recognition. Maybe he is the best in the world!

Anyway...i think its gonna be expensive as i loose about 50 in average every time i play him, but....anything for some exitement. If the experiment shows that i am wrong, nothing would make me happier, and Xristos has qualified for the famious T-shirt that looks like this:

I WISH I WAS....

A JEDI....

Clarcks Corner: Norway Invaded Polen!!!

The Jedi's X-Wing squadron Prevailed!!!!

At 22.00 Polen resigned due to complete air control from Norways X-Wing Brigade. On the picture you can see Geir leading on the crusade over Polen closely followed by JK, Sondre and Tommy that just got his X-Wing license!

Tommy actually won a match!!!! And by doing so he secured the Norwegian Invation. More strange though....the Jedi lost a match! Yes...we have checked the game file and the security video of the match three times....Jedi lost!!! But the rest of the team stood up...and Norway is now in the top division of the Nations Cup.

We can actually pull this one through!

Word from the Menace

Ait...It has been a couple of weeks with dead water due to the Norwegian Championship. The challenges will soon be back up and running. The Nations Cup is in progress. Norway is currently in 7'th postition of 35 before the current round against Polen. Norway is leading the match 2-1 and it is all up to the kid....Again! Will we tie it....or win it? Tommys winrate has to improve! Other News is that the Las Vegas Trip in November has been confirmed. Jedi Troops will attack the sin city in about 3 weeks, just around the Las Vegas open!

We leave no blots behind.

Clarcks Corner: Sonrik Norwegian Champion!!!

It did not take long time after Sondre was touched by Academy ways...before it gave results! After being in heavy battle training with the Menace himself for months...Sonrik pulled a striking best career perfomance. He went all the way in the Norwegian Championship. The Challenge qongrats! The Jedi himself put following statement out to the press: "Sometimes it takes years and years to make a player understand his weaknesses. In this this case, it went smooth. The training made him aware when to attack...and when to stand down. That last part...took a while, but he got it eventually. Sondre was prepared... And when you are prepared...then you can win"

It is also clear that Sondre qualified for the immensely rare T-shirt only owned by a small number of extreemly priveliged people, including among others...Jon Kristian Røiset, Samson Hoiigard and...yes...Arild Idsoe. The T-shirt looks like this:

"The Menace...is my mentor"

Clarcks Corner: Norway vs Iran Tied

Nation stunned again!

Norway started out strong with the Jedi himself taking responsibillity and leading Norway to 1-0 after a staggering attack perfomance. World Champion Jon Kristian Røyset was next up, ending up on DMP and heavily favorite. Roiseth went down in a last second freakshow...It was nothing he could do. Sonrik pulled trhough after a trhilling DMP, and put the preassure to taking it down on the new kid, Tommy. Tommy went out strong...but again...not very lucky. Tommy played on the highest level, but...it was not enough...

Gammon, Set & Match: Nations Cup Third Round

Update from  first match in Nations Cup 3'rd round from John and Jimmy: Jedi vs parvozrokh

John Mcenroe                                                            Jimmy Connors

Clarck Kent: The nations cup is moving forward to round 3 where Norway is to face Iran. I let the backgammon experts take over from here, over to you guys, Jimmy & John

John: Al right...we're back on the centre court for the third round of the Nations Cup where we have whitnessed another astonishing attack performance by the Jedi.
Connors: And as always...when Jedi is playing...It's totally packed....
John: I know...i'ts unbelivable...even my mother is here!
Connors: I mean...what could we expect here. An old veteran returning to the game, the crowd is behind him....John, I gotta tell you....I feel sorry for the other guy!
John: Well, it's by no means easy. The Iranian guy was under pressure already before the match started. He knew..If he can't hold up to that big serve Jedi holds....It's just over!!! Jedi comes in to the net and cubes.... The preassure is on.., constantly!
Connors: And Mackie...
John: Yes?
Connors: The crowd it loving it!
John: And also...what can the Iranian really do If he does not have dices made of Cryptonite?
Connors: Macky!
John: What?
Connors: Clark just fainted....
John: pfff...That guy is such a vimp! Why did Jedi hire him in the first place?
Connors: Dunno...al right let's look at the statistics:

John: Well...Jedi is still not so stable from the baseline as he used to be...but he kinda compensates for it with his constant attacking style:
Connors: Yeah, thats true John, and if the opponent is not ready for it...it puts him of.
John: Let's look at some of the stuff Jedi did wrong in this match:

Jedi leads 8-2 in an 11 point match: Jedi on roll, Cube action?
John: I mean, Jedi has just fired that big serve, he moved forward as usual...and you just know he will fire that cube...and he does!!!
Connors; Yea, but this approach was a bit to early I think. He came in just a second to late, giving the opppnent just that neccecary angle to hit a passing shot. Let's hear it from HAWKEYE:

Hawkeye: Yaohooo, finally! This XG guy is so boring!!! Well let me tell you guys. On this matchscore this is just too aggressive, Jedi should cool it at least one more throw. Its a cube blunder, giving up 0.8%

John: Alright Jimmy, Jedi keeps picking the points for Norway...what can we expect from the other guys?
Connors: Well...I don't think Norway has to fear too much about Roisets form at the moment. I mean...the guy is practically a Jedi product. They have the same attacking style of play, only at this point..., JK is a bit more stabile from the baseline. I mean...the guy knows winning!
John: What about the others guys on the team, Norty and Sonrik?
Connors: Well...they are by all means favorites in this particular match...but look at their winrate Mackie. Not at all good so far for these players.
John: Is it the lack of international experience?
Connors: Well...that could be one factor. Take this guy Norty for instance. Technically he plays brilliant as long as the matches don't go to 5 sets. I mean...it looks like his errors appear when the preassure is on and the stamina gets put to a test.
John: But do you think he will pull it through this time?
Connors: Again...the math is simple. When u have a world champion in your ring corner...and a Jedi!!!....I don't see how you can loose! I mean Norty has two defeats so far...but Mack... he is better than this!
John: And what about the cap, Sonrik.
Connors: I mean...the guy obviously knows the game...but... he has not been out there in the same way as Jedi and Roiset....fighting on the international, and intergalactical arena.. He needs to pull through...for him self and for the team!
John: You think he Is up for it?
Connors: Well... due to all the time and energy Jedi has put down on the guy in trainig ...day out, day in, he better be ready! There are bigger matches coming up, and Norway needs not just the Jedi's to deliver..., if they are going to win the tournament!

John: Alright! Norway 1 Iran 0. That was all for now. Back to you Clark!
Conners: Mackie....he is still out!
John: Oh...right....well, we will be back from centrecourt in a cople of days with more action from the Nations Cup.

Jimmy and John out!

EVENT 2: Wrong Information given about analyse results!

Dear followers. Due to the fact that i lagged behind in Event 2, and Tommy worked up a margin i figured it was impossible to catch up, I resigned the contest. I also wrote and end note where I commented on his average. I how ever had not calcultated his average thorougly, and my comments was a bit too flattering.

I was noticed by one of the viewers who actually had calculated the 23 matches posted, and found Tommys average in these matches to be 4.0. In the remaining 10 matches Tommy played a bit stronger and more stabile, so his total average should be in the range 3.5 - 3.8. I will get back with ecact number when i got the time to go through it all. It must be said though, there were a lack of normality during the entire session, leading to crazy numbers.

I appologize, the former article was written quite late, just after facing defeat. I was not quite avake and based my writing on my personal feel at the moment! I also thank the viewers that are up an awake and noticed me of the dis-information. The challenge is not about fiction, it's about the truth.

Tommy still gets the T-shirt though.

A mathematical curiousity?

Alrigh, last week I had a massiv downswing and i lost staggering 14 matches in a row, The probabillity of that happening is extreemly low. So last week I did perform an Alien Autopsy on my own game to check if I was totally loosing it. It showed an average of 3.9 during the downswing. Well, now it happend again. For the second time within 10 days i loose 14 matches in a row. I tell you.... The dark power of the dices are so freaking unbelivable that one of these days i'm going to be struck by lightning, and feel normal about it!!!

This is how a downswing looks like. Imagine to have this twize in two weeks: 24 lost matches, 6 won. LOL, i cant fight it! I dunno whats going on. My brainwaves are producing anti jokers....

I can't win! I am calling Mummy!!!!

Clarcks Corner - Nations Cup Round 2

Iiiiiiiit's Tequila Time. Norway was meeting Mexico in round 2 and faced oppnonents with nicks making you hungry. And also, guess who is back on the Scene.....YES.....the mean machine Jon Kristian Røyset! First out on the battlefield was the new guy, the fastest drawer in the west, the 5 point specialist Tommy The  Gun Nesbakk. Tommy came out strong, buuut, the taco was just to hot to handle, and Tommy yet again went down to a weaker and most lucky oppnonent. Next out was the world champion, JK. Not quite JFK, but close enough! JK went out superstrong and looked to make potatoes out of the poor mexican. But suddenly things changed and JK was in serious danger of loosing gammon when his oppnonent was 4 away. Luckily JK has been under Jedi supervision all his life and knows how to deal with...yes....endgame. At the acedemy we try to avoid loosing. So JK fought back and won . He also neutralised Mecicos lead. It was now 1 -1.

Next man out, and as you can see i made a new paragraph. Because....yes....the myth the legend, the comeback kid himself, the JediMenace entered the ring. He was dancing in the ring corner, jabbing some lef and right punches in the air...and the crowd was going wild....He looked to be in attack modus....and....Norway 2- 1.

Last man out was Sondrik. This was the toughest match so far for Sondrik, and he finally pulled it through on WO. Norway 3 Mexico 1

Here is a small picture of Nesbacka celebrating the victory...! Things are picking up!

Clarck Kent

EVENT 2 OVER BY TECHNICAL KO!

TOMMY WON EVENT 2 - JEDI RESIGNED

Alright. If had done a little resarch i would never have challenged the Kid on the 5 format. He has specialised himself on the 3 & 5 scores and i was crushed. Tommy knows all the windows on the 5 point format. He does not calculate, he does not count, he does not guess...he knows! Normally i only give recognition to one player, and that is Jon Kristian, because i know he is in control. But at least on this 5 format i have to give credits to this Kid. He is probably among the top 3 players in the world on 5 pointers.

To sum it up we had a strange series of matches with a strange luck factor that made things very difficult, and made lots of matches very short, making errors in XG extreemly costly. And it mostly hurt my game. I was not ready for this format at this time. It didn't make it easyer to know that in addition to winning a match i also had to produce a medium 2 or a low 3 to hope to take or split the statt. That created a lot of preassure on my comeback shoulders...and i dealt with it poorly.

After 23 matches I had won about 70%, but was still behind in the bet with 5 points due to Tommy kept neutralising my wins with taking the statt. I decided to go on to 30 matches to see if my postion got better. If it didn't I decided to give him a Gin position, or a Technical KO. It is highly unlikely that i would catch up. It must have taken some serious braindamage on Tommys part.

I think we played in total 34 matches before it was all over. I have only posted 23 of them, and i will post all of them if Tommy insists. But since the position is Gin and the challenge is over, let me for now just sum it up quick. Tommy played super strong, and if the match scenarious had been more normal, he would have played even stronger, because the guy is programmed on the 5's. I think Tommys average (roughly calcutating also the matches not posted) is about high 2 or 3 blank.I had my worst experience since my comeback and played worse and worse. I could not adjust to the 5 format, i was not good enough prepared, and due to really short matches my errors got very costly. I also got really psyked out by beeing behind most of the time...it produced stress...and was not good for my decicions. I played 4200 matchpoints since early August, and my level is dropping...I think the volume is killing me. At the moment i don't see things clearly, its all a mess!

So Tommy won the challenge fair and square. But has promised me a REMATCH on longer matchscores!

And last but not least he also won the fameous T-shirt which was originally made for Arild Itsø, and looks like this:

Alright, a strong match from both, but the kid still managed to take the statt with minimum margin that bastard, as we play with 0.5 statt margin.

0-0 Jedi on roll, cubeaction

Jedi: I am a bit optimistic here and fire the cube, looking a bit too much on my good scenarioes. I figured entering on the 1 was a huge markedslooser.

XG: A bit too optimistic yes, infact a cube blunder.
