MASTER NORM TORNEY AT GRID GAMMON

Alright. I have now lost 10 matches in a row on the Grid. Every scenario seems to end up in freakscenario. My headsup challenge against Sonrik is at the moment not going my way. Sonrik seems to keep a tight and stable line at the moment, and plays strong. It must be said though i have faced some bad luck, and bad luck often brings difficult decisions. I have dealt with badluck scenarious pritty porrly statt-wise it seems, and have to adjust my psycology here. To let my mind on other stuff i joined one of Grid Gammons new projects. The IIBGF has in cooperation with Grid Gammon  started lots of intresting stuff that might help to rise the staus of backgammon. The Master Norm Torney is a tournament where you can qualify to different titles, grandmaster etc, just like in chess. I would like to advise everyone who is serious about his/her game to register. The IIBGF homepage you can find here: http://iibgf.weebly.com/about-iibgf.html

Since i am struggeling both in my current heads up match against Sonrik and on the Grid in General at the moment, i thought this would be a good oportunity to restore my game. This torney will be played out during 6 months. 12 people play eachother twize in a round robin system to 13 points. Here is my first round in this international master torney. I hoped my bad luck would turn. It did not as i am facing almost - 6 in luck factor,  but at least I got my game running again, after seeing some crushing bad numbers in the latest matches in the heads up challenge which are not posted yet.

Man....Not a good day being a Jedi. I lost almost 50 rating points on the Grid, and it doesn't seem to stop!

Gonna call Chewbacka and go for some beers.

Jedi will be back!

Ait, this was a disastermatch for the rebellion movement. What can be learned here is following: Don't let your  brain trick you into to good scenarios: Jedi on roll 0-0:
Jedi: As you can see i perform a Jedi mindtrick on myself. I tell my self that my oppnonent who has to guys in the air for sure will drop this... instantly...therefore I am too good??? This was a huge mistake leading on to another huge mistake in the next postion

Sonrik:
XG: Go to bed, come back fresh. This is a double/Take!!!

Jedi on roll in the same game:
Jedi: As you can see, still the same game. I have tricked myself into beliving it was to good, and since I want to be consistant, i keep on playing the not too good scenario, which of course never was to good. Total distster of course.

Sonrik:
XG: Jedi, you are DISTRACTED. Just cube it for god's sake and get a good nights sleep!

Summary of the match 4: In all fairness Sonrik takes the double, both victory and statt
Jedi: advanced 11.4
Sonrik: Expert 5.5

Sondre: I was too fancy here(despite all the blots), trying the bold play which I thought could produce an error from my mighty opponent. The race was also a factor. I was wrong, but havent really understood it yet(no rollout done).
Jedi: I put down all the blots here, to force a mistake from my opponent, then i activated the hyperspace engine... :)

Summary: A match where the Jedi showed his strength and not letting Sondre in at all. Stat were moneywise tied.
